Diamond State Dance provides a comprehensive competitive program tailored for dancers aiming to reach the highest levels of performance and to explore opportunities in college or professional dance. Our Competition Team is structured to match age-appropriate commitment, ensuring gradual development and progression with each year. Teams are available for dancers starting as young as 4 years old, fostering growth and excellence from an early age.

Dancers must audition to join the Competition Team. They are placed in routines according to their technique levels and the number of hours per week that they can commit to being in the studio.

In addition to focusing on routines in the genres of jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, hip-hop and tap company members are required to take a ballet and technique classes and have the option to taking the following classes:
 

 

CLASS:

BALLET 

 

Each level of ballet focuses on the appropriate level of ballet technique and terminology.  

Classes focuses on work at the bar, center floor and across the floor.  


1 hour - 2 hour class 

Dancers are assigned to Level 1-5

 
 

CLASS:

JAZZ TECHNIQUE

 

Each level of technique focuses on basic fundamentals to improve dancers overall skill and technique with an emphasis on turns, leaps and other short but challenging combinations


30 minute - 1 hour class 

Dancers are assigned to Level 1-5.


 

CLASS:

TAP TECH

 

Each level of Tap Tech focuses on basic tap technique while challenging the dancer to master new and challenging tap steps.


30 minute – 1 hour class 

Dancers are assigned to Level 1-5

 
 

CLASS:

ACRO

 

Acro focuses mainly on all tumbling and gymnastic skills needed for dance teams, pom squads, cheerleaders, and dancers. In addition to continued learning of new skills, participants learn proper technique.


1 hour class
